Concern Wadebridge will once again be hosting up to 100 senior citizens from the community for their annual Christmas party.
Every year, Concern Wadebridge at the John Betjeman Centre organises a party for the town’s senior citizens. This year’s party has been funded thanks to money raised at the Wadebridge Charity Cycle Ride, providing delicious food, entertainment and transport for all guests of the party.
Concern Wadebridge manager, Emma Burt, said: “The party is for people who might be on their own over Christmas, they might have lost someone close to them or had a really difficult year - and this is our way of spreading some festive cheer. Due to the size of the centre we can only cater for 100 people so spaces are limited and for senior citizens in the Wadebridge area. We are unable to provide Christmas dinner but there will be jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings and lots of treats including mince pies and cakes! We will have a raffle, quiz and entertainment.”
Transport can be provided but must be booked in advance.
The party this year will be on Friday 22nd December 11am-2pm. Places are limited give the centre a call on 01208 812392 and ask for Emma or Jackie.
